52 U. Louisville L. Rev. 429 (2014)
Dedication to Edwin R. Render
Cherry Henault and Irwin "Buddy" Cutler*
Abstract

Professor Edwin “Ed” Render’s contributions to labor law and labor arbitration were the opposite of his modest and unassuming manner. An organizer of the highly regarded Carl A. Warns, Jr. Labor and Employment Law Institute for thirty years, Ed was a role model for arbitrators: maintaining proper judicial restraint and respect for the advocates, allowing the parties to present their cases fairly, quickly comprehending the issues and forces at play, and providing a thorough and well-reasoned decision.

* A friend of Ed Render, Ms. Henault is a former student who worked as Ed's assistant from 2001–2014. Also a long-time friend of Ed Render, Mr. Cutler is a labor law attorney with Priddy, Cutler, Naake and Meade, PLLC, in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Cutler arbitrated many cases before Ed.
